Review of film:  “G-FORCE” --  Let the “Force” be WITH you!   =

                                Rating:  8 of 10 stars (based on an advance 3-D screening).

 

Disney teamed with action guru Jerry Bruckheimer to produce this combination of live action & very well-done animation highlighting exceptionally natural-looking Guinea Pigs (which, of course, are not pigs & don’t come from Guinea)…

…  ZACK GALIFIANAKAS plays Ben who recruits some raucous “enhanced” rodents to fight evil-doers such as industrialist Saber (BILL NIGHY) & to stay away from interference by FBI men such as Kip (WILL ARNETT)…

…  Each rodent has a distinct personality: team-leader Darwin (voiced by SAM ROCKWELL), Juarez (PENELOPE CRUZ), wild Blaster (TRACY MORGAN), Hurley (JON FAVREAU), obstructionist hamster Bucky (STEVE BUSCEMI), & computer-expert mole Speckles (NICOLAS CAGE, using an altered voice)…

…  The 3-D is quite EFFECTIVE (without being overdone), the action is impressive, the humor consistent & enjoyable, & the story and special effects all work to enhance the overall effect of the cute film…

…  The kids in the audience seemed to get a big kick out of the movie, & while it doesn’t have the charm of ‘UP’ or the laughs of some ‘SHREK’ films, it’s a lively & FUN adventure.
