This is a finely “BREEZY” animated story about the continuing adventures of characters introduced in the 1st film, including: young lion Alex (voiced by BEN STILLER), his father Zuba (BERNIE MAC, to whom the film is dedicated because of his recent passing), Alex’s zebra friend Marty (CHRIS ROCK), giraffe Melman (DAVID SCHWIMMER), happy hippo Gloria (JADA PINKETT SMITH), & lemur “King” Julien (SACHA BARON COHEN)...

...  They unwisely trust a bunch of flightless (& often clueless) penguins to fly them back to their New York home, & the film follows their adventures when they crash into a Game Reserve in continental Africa...

...  I saw this film in the IMAX version, & the animation comes across with wonderful colors and “DEPTH” to the images...

...  The characterizations are very well done, suffused with humor, believability and individuality. While not as clever or groundbreaking as “WALL-E”, it’s a finely ENJOYABLE trip as the characters get to better know each other and themselves.
