(Based on an advance preview:)  VAMPIRE films: One of my LEAST-liked genres in general...

...  This subtitled Swedish film has some DIFFERENCES from the usual “stereotypes” in that, the main characters are 12 years old-- a boy (KÅRE HEDEBRANT) who’s regularly BULLIED by other boys in school, and a girl (LINA LEANDERSSON, the main vampiress) who moves in next door...

...  A friend of mine wondered if this well-attended film’s “buzz” was somehow related to soon-to-open "Twilight" [movie], but we found it (the film & the initial interest in it) all somewhat STRANGE: the movie is pretty well-made on technical and acting levels...

...  But, let’s face it— while there are some tender “young Vampire CRUSH” type scenes, it’s also suffused with a good deal of VENGEANCE-related bloody GORE...

...  I know a number of people LIKE such gory “horror” movies-- but I am simply NOT a fan of “terror” movies like this, however “creative” & supposedly “brilliant” they might be in “peripheral” matters.
