I first became aware of SAM ROCKWELL around late 1996 when director Tom DiCillo introduced his film “BOX OF MOON LIGHT” co-starring Sam as The Kid. Sam’s done a number of fine jobs since then (including the recent Frost / Nixon)— but I feel this role puts him really “FRONT & CENTER” as an important actor to watch…
Sam IS this movie, playing an astronaut who runs a mining operation on the far side of the moon. He actually plays like 3 roles in it, since things start going very ‘WRONG’ in his workplace life and — since he has only a computerized ROBOT named GERTY (voiced by KEVIN SPACEY) he can directly deal with — he’s the only one he can really “turn to” to clear up things...

...  I purposely am NOT going into more detail, because a large part of enjoying this is NOT KNOWING what’s really going on & what can be done to “CHANGE” it!..
Suffice it to say that, the concept is incredible, the acting is “awesome”, & you’d be wise to pay close attention to the very END so you don’t miss some "twists".
