MY Rating:

8.5 of 10 stars (based on a special screening of the 131-minute film).

On March 30, 2010, TCM (TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES) held a special showing of an older movie in Chicago (as they did with various other films in other cities)...

...  The film was ALFRED HITCHCOCK’s classis “NORTH BY NORTHWEST”, with CARY GRANT playing a New York City advertising exec named “Roger O. Thornhill”  who a group of foreign spies erroneously take for being a Government AGENT...

...  They chase him around the country (including in CHICAGO and at South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore), trying to capture him and extract what they “want” from him...

...  The film is a marvelously rare combination of being both very EXCITING and also unusually stylish at the same time......  Hosted by ROBERT OSBORNE of TCM - TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES, the screening was followed by a special Q&A with one of its stars, EVA MARIE SAINT (who plays “Eve Kendall”, a lady helping Cary in the film), answering questions about the movie and her career...

...  I shot a number of PHOTOS of her (as seen below)...

[ NOTE:  TCM - TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES is an official AFFILIATE of this web-site!  You can see ADS mentioning some of their offerings near the bottom of the RIGHT-HAND column... ]

... Coincidentally, the CHICAGO INT’L FILM FESTIVAL (CIFF) held a special “Q&A” screening of the SAME film with another of its stars, MARTIN LANDAU (who played assistant “Leonard” to chief spy James Mason) in October of 2009, & I also shot photos of HIM there (and spoke to him a bit)...
